living at school

This year I’m living at school, not on campus but over at south rock. I’ve definitely noticed a difference not living at home. Besides the fact of getting more work done just having to fend for yourself and living without your parents is a good experience for anyone. Although kids don’t notice especially since a lot of them party but this helps them to start to mature and become responsible. This is why I suggest to anyone to live on their own at least once at college even if you live close.

The Flu

I really haven't eaten dinner that much this year but last year after bozel opened and the flu stopped serving dinner. normally i wouldn't care but when you stand in a line for a couple minutes and theirs 4 more you need to be in to get food, that's a little annoying. when its lunch time and both are open i never have a problom of getting food because both are open. I don't understand why the school just doesn't open the flu back up for dinner. Their is plenty of people to feed on campus so i don't see why not open the flu.

parking

I don’t know what it is, but this year there is almost no parking by nine thirty. There are just a couple rows left in east lake parking lot. I don’t know if theirs just a lot more freshmen this year or what but its sometimes annoying having to park in east lake and then walk to McKay. The school needs to think about finding some more room to put a parking lot or something. Or be allowed to put more part time parking on Main Street.

smoker's trash

The first semester I came to slippery rock the campus was really clean and well kept. In the second semester things changed, I don't smoke so I didn't think the smoking ban would concern me. Turns out it ended up affecting me. Since people are not supposed to be smoking on campus anymore, the ash trays were taken out. So students still smoked but just threw their buds on the ground and they were everywhere. It’s not that bad this year just I still notice it especially outside my apartment. I find it ignorant that people can’t either wait till they go somewhere they can smoke or simply dispose of their trash properly.
